Ravens Quiet Thunder

ANDERSON, Ind. – The Trine University Baseball team dropped a non-conference contest to Anderson 23-7 this afternoon. Cole Temple crushed a fourth inning two run homer in the loss. Trine is now 6-8 and Anderson moves to 10-6.

Not much went right for the Thunder at the start, Anderson scored nine runs in the first and seven in the second. Facing a 16-0 deficit, the Thunder showed signs of life in the third. Dane DuBois led off with a triple and Cole Schmidthuber earned a walk. Luke Burford earned an RBI in the next at bat as a fielder's choice allowed DuBois to score. Anderson added three more in the bottom of the third and ultimately would score in all six of their sides.

The fourth brought three runs for Trine. Nathan Gilmet led off with a single and advanced to scoring position on a wild pitch. A fly out helped Gilmet reach third, a second wild pitch scored the run. Noah Prewitt earned a walk and Temple sent one over the left field fence in the next at bat to score two more. A fielding error scored two runs for the Thunder in the top of the seventh. DuBois recorded his second hit to score Temple.

Trine heads to NAIA-foe Siena Heights on Sunday for a double header. The first game is set for a noon first pitch.
