O'Neal Ties Two Records, Women's Lacrosse Grounds Eagles

ANGOLA, Ind. – Lillian O'Neal tied two school records in an 18-5 victory over Spalding University on Monday afternoon. O'Neal completed a first quarter hat trick with one assist and then added seven more as the Thunder rolled to a non-conference victory. Trine is now 5-1 while the Golden Eagles are 1-6.
 
O'Neal tallied eight assists and three goals for a total of 11 points. The assists and points tie the program record in each category. Brooke Hoag shot a perfect five for five to lead the Thunder goal scorers.
 
O'Neal struck first, just 20 seconds into the game. Elizabeth Larson quickly added a second and the O'Neal found Brooke Hoag for assist number one. Hoag scored again to give Trine a 4-0 lead less than six minutes into the game. O'Neal scored the next two, the second coming a man up to take a 6-2 lead. Hoag completed her hat trick with the first goal of the second quarter, she sandwiched a goal from Izabelle Dominski as the lead grew to 9-2. O'Neal then assisted the next three goals. The first went to Alyssa Keptner who scored a man down, she then found Larson and Avelyn McCall to enact the running clock. Trine led 12-2 at halftime.
 
Trine scored the first two goals of the second half to build a 12 goal lead. Hoag and Keptner scored with Alyssa Lahutsky and McCall assisting. The Golden Eagles looked to stop the running clock, cutting the deficit to 14-4. Dominski scored to add a cushion and O'Neal dished to Larson as she completed her hat trick. O'Neal assisted the final two goals to bring her tally to eight assists and 11 points.
 
Trine is off until March 30th when they head to the Windy City for a match up with the University of Chicago.
