ANGOLA, Ind. – The #11 Trine University Women's Basketball team dominated the second half of a 61-34 win over the Albion Britons in tonight's MIAA Tournament Semifinal. Trine allowed just 12 second half points and Trine matched Albion's 34 total points by halftime. Trine is now 24-2, Albion finishes their season at 12-15.
Three Thunder scored in double figures and the defense forced 22 turnovers and held a 39-31 rebounding edge. Trine allowed just five offensive rebounds despite the Briton's shooting just 28.6% from the floor. MIAA Player of the Year
Sidney Wagner had 13 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
Allison Capouch drilled a three pointer to kickstart a 8-0 run in the first quarter as Trine took advantage early
. Zoe Willems scored the next four, Trine led 15-5. Albion attempted to close the deficit but would be stopped by another Capouch triple.
Hailey Cole made a jumper and then beat the buzzer to give Trine a 22-10 lead.
Albion chipped away to trail by just seven less than a minute into the second quarter. Trine again had the answer with a 10-2 run. Wagner,

Katie Tate provided the offense, three Briton turnovers and one-shot possessions sustained the Thunder spurt. It was
Erin Sherwood's turn to beat the buzzer in the second quarter to give Trine a 34-22 lead.
Trine suffocated the Britons' offense in the second half, allowing just 12 second half points on 4-21 shooting and 0-6 from the three point line. Trine grabbed 8 steals and 13 defensive rebounds.

Erin Sherwood each scored 8 to lead the offense.
Trine will host Calvin tomorrow in the MIAA Championship Game at 7:30 p.m. Trine is looking for the program's first back-to-back MIAA Tournament Championship.
