Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Nationally Ranked St. Norbert Overcomes Trine's Defensive Effort

DE PERE, Wis. – The nationally ranked team from St. Norbert College was too much for the Trine University women's hockey team, despite a stellar defensive effort. The Green Knights, who are ranked sixth and seventh in the two national polls, won the contest 2-0.

The home team did their scoring in the first period, netting both to take the 2-0 lead into the first intermission. The first goal came in the 15th minute with the second closing out the period in the 20th minute.

The Thunder defense locked in for the other 55 minutes of the contest. Annie Kindseth led that effort from net, playing all 60 minutes and making 38 saves, including 29 through the final two periods.

Offensively, the team finished with 18 shots on goal. Dorka Gengeliczky led the team with four of her own.

Trine falls to 3-5-1 overall and 1-5-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) play following the loss. They will look to find some offense tomorrow, Saturday, December 6. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. CT.
