DE PERE, Wis. – The Trine University women's hockey team dropped their second contest against nationally ranked St. Norbert College, once again by the score of 2-0.
The Thunder defense picked up where they left off yesterday, turning in a shutout first period. The Green Knights scored their first goal in the seventh minute of the second period and then sealed the win with a final minute goal.
Annie Kindseth made another start in net and played just as well as her first. She finished today's contest with 50 saves, including 22 in the shutout first period.
The Thunder offense struggled, especially early. They had just two shots in the first and four in the second. They doubled that total with seven in the third period in a comeback attempt. Sydney Streb, Hannah Lambers and Maya Shtrom led the way with two shots on goal each.
Trine falls to 3-6-1overall and 1-6-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) play. They now will enjoy an extended break, returning to the ice on Wednesday, December 31 when they travel to Adrian College for a non-conference tilt. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
