Men's Hockey Back in the Top Ten

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's hockey team benefited from losses around the country this past week, moving to up to tenth in both national polls despite not playing a game of their own.

The Thunder moved up one spot in the latest DIII Hockey News poll, receiving 91 points, 20 more than the previous edition. The team is now just ahead of Utica University who went 1-1 during their Thanksgiving showcase. SUNY Geneseo sits ahead of Trine in the ninth spot.

In the USCHO.com poll, Trine was selected tenth this week after falling to 12th in the last edition. They secured 102 points in the poll, 30 more than last week. The team leapfrogged Babson College which went 1-1-1 last week to stay in 11th in the poll. Geneseo resides just ahead of the Thunder.

Four other members of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) remain ranked by both organizations. Aurora University leads the pack sitting in second in both polls, while Adrian College jumped into third place. St. Norbert College fell after a tough loss last week, sitting fourth according to DIII Hockey News and fifth in the USCHO.com rankings. The Milwaukee School of Engineering continues to receive votes in both tallies.

Trine returns to action this weekend, hosting the aforementioned Green Knights for a pair of NCHA contests. The first game is scheduled for Friday, December 5 at 7 p.m.
