Men's Basketball Bounces Back for Win over Marietta

WASHINGTON, Pa. – Jayden Bradshaw and Danny Flood combined for 35 points as the duo led the Trine men's basketball team past their old squad in an 86-55 victory over Marietta. Flood was 3-5 from behind the line and Bradshaw was perfect in seven trips to the free throw line. Trine rebounds from yesterday's loss to 4-1 and drops Marietta to 4-2.
 
Logan McKenzie chipped in nine points and four rebounds and Drew Panning scored seven to go with six boards and three helpers.
 
Trine raced out to a 16-6 lead, scoring eight in the paint and five from the stripe. Bradshaw led the way with seven. Marietta would slow the Thunder offense over the next five mintes and rally to a 20-14 deficit. The game would remain close toward the end of the first half with Trine leading 32-24 with 3:42 to go. The Thunder would close the half on a 14-3 run to take firm control of the game. Elias Lewis led with seven points, Flood added four and McKenzie chipped in three.
 
Trine started the second half strong, scoring the first four points and forcing a pair of turnovers and ending five of the Pioneers first six possessions in one shot. Trine led by about 20 points for the first half of the second frame, with the teams trading baskets. Brenner scored five to lead the way offensively. Three pointers by Elisha Jones and Danny Flood got the Thunder rolling past the midway point. Panning and Nate Tucker assisted. Bradshaw also found his groove with a couple trips to the free throw line and an and-one. Nolan Bales and Eddie Millington scored their first collegiate baskets as Trine wrapped up the 86-55 win.
 
The Thunder will travel to Anderson on Wednesday for a 1:00 p.m. tip off.
