ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's cross country team will head to the NCAA Championships ranked inside the top 10 in three national polls. Trine maintains its highest ranking ever in a national poll, checking in at #8 for the third consecutive week in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association poll.
The Thunder claimed their first ever NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship on Saturday, just two weeks after winning its first ever conference title. Trine also held serve in the D3 Glory Days poll, ranking seventh. D3 Glory Days is a dedicated Division III Track and Field and Cross Country media outlet. The Thunder did change position in the FloTrack.com poll, moving up one spot to #9.
Trine has a pair of runners ranked in FloTrack's Individual rankings.
Sidney Swick is #21 and
Bailey Puckett is #47. Swick drops three spots after not competing last weekend, though Coach
Zach Raber is optimistic on her return to the lineup this weekend.
"I'm really excited to see our girls run this weekend" said Coach Raber, "It's been a goal of ours this season to compete at this meet, to see it come to fruition is awesome."
The Thunder will race at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Milliken Research Park in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
