LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Trine University men's cross country team placed eighth at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships this morning at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
Blake Overmyer led Trine with a 22
nd place finish. This marks the third consecutive year the Thunder have placed inside the top 10.
Hope College won the team title with Rose-Hulman claiming second place. John Carroll, Baldwin Wallace, and Otterbein rounded out the top five. Sam Rinker of RHIT was the individual champion in 24:51.27. The top 30 runners were named All-Region.
Overmyer led the Thunder, completing the 8,000-meter course in 25:42.75. He earns his first career All-Region selection.

Nick Spielman crossed second for Trine in 26:01.86, in 41
st place.
2023 NCAA Championships Qualifier
Ryan Hoopingarner was close behind in 45
th, crossing in 26:05.05.
Tyler Hartleroad was 51
st in 26:16.12 and
Clay Batio rounded out the Thunder five in 101
st place in 26:54.12.
Brady Millington and
Robert Lohman also ran for Trine, placing 116
th and 125
th in 27:07.33 and 27:16.53.
This concludes the season for the Thunder. Trine posted its best MIAA Championships finish in six years with a second place showing two weeks ago.
