GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – An otherwise defensive battle saw three goals scored in five minutes in the second half as the Trine University women's soccer team fell 2-1 in MIAA action on Wednesday night. The Calvin Knights scored the latter pair and move to 7-4-0 (3-0-0 MIAA), Trine falls to 5-3-3 (1-1-0).

Trine managed two shots on goal in the first half both coming in the first 17 minutes. Abby Robison got the first shot off in the eighth minute, trying the low middle of the Knight's goal. Ava Leihgeber tried the top right in the 17th minute but both shots were knocked away. Madison Kinneer made three saves in the net for the Thunder. She was tested early, in the second minute she turned away a Calvin shot and made two other saves in the 30th and 41st minutes.

The teams traded shots through the early portion of the second half. Samantha Sanderlin found paydirt in the 76th minute off a corner kick.
