FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Senior Rashawn Street has been named this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

It is the second time this season that a member of the team has earned Athlete of the Week honors. It is the first time in Street's career that he has been recognized by the MIAA.

The Indianapolis, Ind. native showcased why he is considered one of the best return men in the conference on Saturday. He finished the homecoming contest against Hope College with 124 kickoff return yards and another ten on punts. His highlight came late in the game when he made a house call on a 90-yard kickoff return. The touchdown kept the team's comeback chances alive.

In addition to the returns, Street led the team with five receptions and 64 yards receiving. His long was a 31-yard catch and run.

The Thunder fell to the nationally-ranked Flying Dutch, falling to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in MIAA play. The team will look to regroup this next weekend with a bye, before heading to The University of Olivet on Thursday, October 16 for a 7 p.m. contest.
