CLINTON, Ill. – The Trine University women's triathlon team picked up another strong finish at the 2025 Prairie State Cup hosted by Millikin University. The team finished second among the seven NCAA Division III teams in attendance.
Mia Griesmeyer and Lia Bartholomew paced the team in the competition, finishing 41st and 42nd among all competitors, including NCAA Division I and II student-athletes. Griesmeyer had a time of 1:11:34, while Bartholomew came in just 19 seconds later at 1:11:53.
Tessa Szymanski came in next with a time of 1:18:15, good enough for 61st. Summer South and Paige Aselage went back-to-back again for the team, taking 63rd and 64th respectively. The pair crossed the line nearly at the same time, both credited with a 1:19:37.
Four other members of the team finished outside of the scoring, top-five times for each team counted. Alyssa Seiter led the group with a time of 1:20:34 and Ella Bartholomew came in next at 1:23:21. Carmen Blaine had a 1:30:29 and Makena Kretz finished in 1:36:07.
Trine will head to Troutman, N.C. for their next race, the final guaranteed event of the fall. The East Regional is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 25.
