ANGOLA, Ind. – Tonight, at the annual Touchstone and Homecoming Celebration Dinner, two individuals and one team will be inducted into the Trine University Athletic Hall of Fame. During the week we will highlight the Class of 2025 and their accomplishments.

The 2010 football is one of the best in the program's history. It is one of just three seasons where the Thunder have reached 11 wins, and one of just two that saw the team reach the second round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship tournament. Trine, led by head coach Matt Land, finished the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record, before ultimately finishing with an 11-1 mark, with their lone loss coming to the eventual national champions.

The season marked the culmination of a streak of dominance in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, with the Thunder capturing three straight MIAA championships on the back of an 18-0 record. 2010 marked a particularly impressive season, with only the Border Brawl decided by less than three touchdowns.

The team was dominant on both sides of the ball throughout the season. They held opponents to less than 17 points through the regular season and finished with just 15.6 points against per game. Offensively they averaged 46.2 points per game and over 400 total yards per game.

Individually the Thunder had 15 members named to All-MIAA teams and five named D3Football.com All-Region. Jeremy Howard won the Pete Schmidt Scholar Athlete Award, Aaron Selking was named the MIAA Defensive MVP and Eric Watt repeated as Offensive MVP. Watt's accolades continued at the national level where he was named an All-American by D3Football.com and captured the 2010 Gagliardi Trophy, awarded to the most outstanding football player in Division III. Watt is already a two-time member of the Trine Hall of Fame, as an individual and as a member of the 2008 football team.

In addition to the official induction to the Hall of Fame on Friday, October 3, all members of the class will be recognized on the field during Trine's football game against Hope College on Saturday, October 4. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. with recognitions place throughout.
