ANGOLA, Ind. – Interim Athletic Director Andy Rang has announced the hiring of Kaitlin Siener as the new head coach of the Trine University cheer and dance teams.
"We are excited for Kaitlin to return to Trine as our new head coach," said Rang, "With her experiences both with the program and since graduating, I fully expect the program to flourish under her guidance."
Siener graduated from Trine in 2023 after spending four years on the High Voltage Dance Team. During her time the team made its first trip to the National Dance Alliance championships, coming away with a third-place finish. She was a three-year captain of the team.
Since leaving school, Siener has worked as a middle school math teacher but has also remained heavily active in competitive dance. She coached the Blackhawk Middle School dance team for two years and has worked at Craneisha's Dance Unlimited in Fort Wayne, Indiana for the past year. During the latter she has planned and taught structured classes for students of all skill levels while providing feedback and fostering confidence. She also recruited new students to the studio.
"Trine has always felt like home, and I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to return and lead the program," said Siener, "I look forward to building on the recent achievements of both teams while also helping each athlete grow and develop within the program. Go Thunder!"
Siener has danced since she was four years old and before coming to Trine had a very successful high school career, featuring State and National championship qualifications as well as three All-American selections.
