Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Moore, Tucker Send #3 Men's Basketball Past Albion

ANGOLA, Ind. – Drew Moore and Nate Tucker combined for 47 points as they continued their hot streaks in a 66-56 victory over Albion on Saturday afternoon. Moore buried five triples and Tucker continued his mid-range madness. The duo knocked in 15-18 free throws to cap off their performance. The Thunder still sit atop the MIAA standings at 14-1 (4-0) while Albion is 5-10 (0-4).

A physical battle all game saw just 14 points scored over the first 11 minutes, Moore scored 9 of the first 10 with a trio of triples. Albion led 22-17 with 3:47 left in the first half, Emmanuel Megnanglo hammered a dunk and Moore hit a pair of jumpers. Then Logan Gard converted and and-one to cut the deficit to 28-27 at halftime.

The Thunder quickly grabbed the lead in the second half as Moore buried his fourth triple, two possessions later he was fouled on another three but earned all three at the line to give Trine a 35-31 lead. Albion kept it close with a three and four second chance points. The lead stayed between 3 and 5 for much of the second half for Trine. Back-to-back baskets by Tucker and Moore stretched it to 8 with two minutes remaining to gain some breathing room. They made all five of their free throws to close out the 66-56 victory.

Trine forced 20 Briton turnovers and blocked three shots. Trine heads to Adrian on Wednesday and hosts Hope on Saturday next week. Those games are set for 7:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. start times.
