Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Thunder End 2024 with 1-0 Victory

HERSHEY, Pa. – The Trine University women's hockey team finished off the 2024 portion of their season with a victory during the final leg of their eastern road trip. They defeated their hosts from Lebanon Valley College with a 1-0 shutout.

The teams seemed evenly matched throughout the contest, especially on the offensive end of the ice. The Thunder finished the day with 29 shots on goal, with the Dutch finishing just three behind with 26.

Trine outshot the opposition in both the second and third periods, with the lone goal of the game coming in the second. Midway through the stanza, Lebanon Valley committed their only penalty of the day giving the Thunder an advantage. After the initial faceoff, the home side cleared the puck to the other end of the ice with Hannah Lambers eventually settling it behind her own net. The sophomore took it herself moving into the offensive zone on the near side of the ice. Her pass went through the point to Payton Hans who skated forward a few strides before firing a rocket into the back of the net.

Aside from the goal, the other difference maker in the game was Annie Kindseth who played her second game in net over the last three days. She finished with the shutout after making 26 saves.

The Thunder improve 5-6-2 overall following the victory. They will hit the road again for their next pair of games in Minnesota. They are set to face Bethel University beginning on Friday, January 3 at 7 p.m. CT / 8 p.m. ET.
