REISTERSTOWN, Md. – The Trine University women's hockey team came up short of their hosts from Stevenson University, falling for the second straight day this time with a score of 2-0.

The Thunder ran into a hot goalie. The team outshot the Mustangs 38-20 during the contest, but the home goalie turned aside every shot to secure the 2-0 victory.

In net for Trine, Claire Schmaltz made the 20 saves for the team, while allowing just one goal with the other coming on an empty net in the waning seconds of the contest. Payton Hans led on the offensive side of the ice, making a team-high six shots on goal. Kailey Mleko was second with five shots of her own.

The Thunder fall to 4-6-2 overall following the loss. They will finish their road trip to the east coast with a third contest tomorrow, Tuesday, December 31. They face off with Lebanon Valley College at 2 p.m.
