OSHKOSH, WISC. – The #18 Trine University Women's Basketball team came up just short of #5 Wisconsin-Oshkosh, 61-54 on Sunday afternoon.
Sidney Wagner led the Thunder with a 17-point 14-rebound double-double. Trine drops to 8-2, while the Titans remain unbeaten at 10-0.

The Thunder never led but were able to keep the game within nine for the entirety of the game. UWO hit a three to end a minute and a half draught to start the game. Trine cut the deficit to one with a jumper from Wagner.
Erin Sherwood scored on back to back possessions to keep the Thunder within a score as the first quarter neared an end.

Trailing 19-14 early in the second quarter,
Sierra Hinds knocked down a triple to cut the Titan lead to 2. Oshkosh stretched their advantage to eight at the halfway mark of the second quarter. Trine chipped away at the lead behind baskets from Wagner and a triple from
Allison Capouch. The Thunder trailed 32-27 at the break.

Over the first five minutes of the third quarter Trine trimmed the Oshkosh lead to two. Wagner connected from deep, then Sherwood made a layup and
Katie Tate knocked in a pair of free throws. From there, Oshkosh would extended their advantage to seven heading to the fourth quarter.

The teams traded buckets for the majority of the final frame. Trine then engineered a 6-0 run with a free throw from Tate, another Hinds triple and a jumper from Wagner. The Thunder trailed 55-54. UWO responded with a 6-0 run of their own to claim the game 61-54.

Trine returns to action tomorrow afternoon when they square off with Ripon at 1:00 p.m.
