ANGOLA, Ind. – Five different Thunder athletes netted a goal to lead the Trine Women's Soccer team past Alma on a beautiful Tuesday night at Shive Field. Trine tallied four first half goals and added another in the 82
nd minute to seal the victory. Four players scored their first career goal as Trine moves to 8-4-3 (3-2-1 MIAA) and Alma falls to 0-11-1 (0-5-1 MIAA).
Senior night is all about the seniors and their impact on their program. Trine's seniors are no different, so far, they have led the program to two MIAA Championship games and a NCAA appearance. They made another impact on the program tonight as they combined for two goals, four assists, seven saves, and a program record.
Trine came out of the gate aggressive offensively as senior
Ashlyn Swartz opened the scoring in just the 5
th minute. Senior
Teresa Ashbrook assisted Swartz on the goal. Five minutes later, Ashbrook earned a second assist as she sent a ball up the right side to
Abby Robison who quickly crossed the ball into the box where seniorÂ
Hailey Jakubowski would make a great touch and send a shot high and right into the corner of the net for her first career goal. In the 23
rd minute senior
Bella Mabry dished out her first assist of the night to
Maggie McDowell who put away her first career goal. In the 38
th minute Mabry made a run up the left sideline deep into the Scot's territory before crossing the ball backwards to
Jordan Danna, the pass ricocheted off Alma's keeper, but Danna was able to corral the pass and knock in the goal to give Trine a 4-0 heading into halftime. The goal was the first of Danna's career.

Trine slowed the pace in the second half recording four shots compared to ten in the first half. The final goal of the game came from
Hannah Lewis with assistance from
Sofia Delgado, Delgado made a pass from just outside the 18-yard box to Lewis, who made a move past the keeper and buried her shot in the back of the net. In goal for Trine was
Sophie Aschemeier, Aschemeier faced seven shots, all from long range as the stingy Thunder defense kept the pressure on the Scots all night. Sophie made the save on all seven shots and earned her 23
rd career shutout. She is now the program's all time leader in shutouts.

Trine wraps up MIAA regular season action on the road, traveling to Saint Mary's on Saturday before concluding the regular season at Olivet on October 30
th. Those games are set to kick at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
