KALAMAZOO, Mich. –
Samantha Sanderlin netted her first career goal in the first half and
Abby Robison added another in the second half to lead the Trine University Women's Soccer past Kalamazoo on Saturday evening. Trine gets back into the win column and improves to 7-4-3 (2-2-1 MIAA) Kalamazoo falls to 5-10 (2-4 MIAA). Trine rattled off 21 shots in the win.

Kalamazoo scored early to take a 1-0 lead in the 13
th minute. Trine kept consistent offensive pressure on the Hornets throughout the half, tallying eight shots including five on goal and another eight corner kicks. It was not until the Thunder's eighth shot of the half that Sanderlin was able to put one past the Hornet defense off a corner kick from
Bella Mabry. The goal marked the first of Sanderlin's career and level the score at 1 all heading into the intermission.

Trine turned up the offensive pressure in the second half piling on a baker's dozen with four on goal. Trine added four more corner kicks as well. It only took the Thunder two shots to find the back of the net in the second half.
Erin Scully found Robison off of a free kick and Robison put the Thunder ahead 2-1.
Madison Kinneer made three saves in the second half as the Thunder defense bowed up to hold the lead. K-Zoo was able to fire off one last shot in the 89
th minute but Kinneer turned it away and secured the victory.

Trine closes out their home slate on Tuesday night when they host Alma on Shive Field at 7:00 p.m. for Senior Night.
