Box Score

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Despite shutting out Calvin College in the first half, the Trine University women's soccer team allowed three goals in the second half as they fell 3-0. The Thunder are now 3-9-1 on the season and 1-6-1 in the conference.

The Thunder defense was able to hold the Knights scoreless in the first half despite Calvin taking 13 shots. Sophomore goalkeeper Kate Wegert (Elmore, Ohio/Woodmore) came up huge making eight saves in the opening period.

The Knights refused to go quietly as they scored quickly to open the second half. Just 1:20 into the period, the Knights found the back of the net. Calvin would score twice more, both coming less than three minutes apart at 59:39 and 62:25 of the game.

Wegert finished the day with season-high 13 saves.

The Thunder will return home to take on Albion College on October 12 for a 4:00 p.m. match.
