THUNDER BURNED BY COMETS

Box Score

OLIVET, Mich. - It was a fight to the finish for the Trine University women's soccer team as they fell in the final minutes to Olivet College 2-1. The Thunder are now 3-7-1 on the season and 1-6-1 in the conference.

Trine trailed early as the Comets got on the board first as Olivet's Lindsey Winters launched her shot from 40 yard out that senior goalkeeper Jen Wall was unable to knock away. Olivet controlled the ball in the opening period outshoot the Thunder 9-to-3. Wall made six saved in the opening half.

It took almost the entire second half before anyone found the back of the net again. The Thunder were able to score the equalizer in the 85th minute during a scrum in front of the net as freshman Trisha King (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) scored for the second straight game. Trine's celebration wouldn't last long as Winters would score the game-winner less than two minutes later.

Wall (New Haven, Ind./New Haven) finished with 10 saves on the afternoon.

Trine will take a day off before returning to action as they travel to Calvin College for a noon match.
