THUNDER FALL AT HOME TO ST. MARY'S

Box Score

ANGOLA, Ind. - It was a difficulty afternoon for the Trine University women's soccer team as their offense was unable to get going early as they fell 2-1 to conference opponent St. Mary's College. The Thunder are now 3-7-1 overall and 1-5-1 in the MIAA.

Neither team found the back of the net in the first half as the Thunder managed just one shot attempt while the Belles managed five.

It didn't take long to get things going in the second half. Just three minutes in, the Belles fired a shot from the far left wing and into the top right corner for the lead. Just nine minutes later St. Mary's netted what would be the game-winner off a corner kick.

The Thunder would pull within a goal in the 79th minute as freshman Trisha King (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) netted her second goal of the season. King buried the pass from sophomore Kristin Elliott (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) into the top left corner.  Trine outshot the Belles in the second half, but were unable to score the equalizer.

Senior goalkeeper Jen Wall (New Haven, Ind./New Haven) made three saves on the afternoon, all coming in the first half.

Trine will travel to Olivet College on October 6 for a 4:00 p.m. match.
