THUNDER STUNG IN OVERTIME

Box Score

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - It was a true battle to the end between the women's soccer teams of Trine University and Kalamazoo College. In the end it was a tough loss to swallow for the Trine soccer team as they fell in overtime to Kalamazoo 3-2. The Thunder are now 3-13-2 on the season and 1-11-2 in the conference.

Senior Jen Wall (New Haven, Ind./New Haven) got the scoring starting as she netted her first goal of the season in the 17th minute. Sophomore Meredith Beer (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland) had the assist on the goal.

The Hornets would tie the game up in the 54th minute. It wouldn't take long though for the Thunder to regain the lead as freshman Trisha King (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) scored her fourth goal of the season just five minutes later off an assist from sophomore Kristin Elliott (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster).

It was just bad luck for the Thunder as the Hornets scored the equalizer just 30 seconds later sending the game into overtime.

It only took one shot in the extra period, as the Hornets scored on their first shot attempt at 3:16 of overtime.

Kalamazoo outshot the Thunder 26-to-6 on the afternoon. Sophomore Kate Wegert (Elmore, Ohio/Woodmore) made eight saves in goal for the Thunder.

Trine will finish off their road season as they travel to St. Mary's College for an 11:00 p.m. match on October 29.
