THUNDER PLAY TOUGH WITH DEFENDING CHAMPS

ALMA, Mich. - The Trine University women's soccer team nearly pulled off another huge game against the defending conference champion Alma College as they fell 1-0. The Thunder are now 3-12-2 on the season and 1-10-2 in the conference.

The lone goal of the game came in the 35th minute when Ann Kennedy scored off a corner kick. The Thunder defense came up huge the entire game as they forced the Scots shots off target. Alma out-shot Trine 26-to-4 on the afternoon including 16-to-1 in the second half.

Senior Jen Wall (New Haven, Ind./New Haven) took three of Trine shots, while freshman Trisha King (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) had the other shot attempt.

Sophomore Kate Wegert (Elmore, Ohio/Woodmore) made her fourth start of the season between the pipes making 10 saves.

Trine will take the weekend off before traveling to Kalamazoo for a match on October 26 at 4:00 p.m.
