Box Score ANGOLA, Ind. - It was a
tough first 15 minutes for the Trine University women's
soccer team as they allowed both of Adrian College's goals in
their 2-0 loss. The Thunder are now 3-10-2 overall and 1-8-2 in the
conference.
Ranked sixth in the Central Region by the NSCAA,
the Bulldogs first goal came just five minutes into the game as Sam
Barker chipped a shot over goalkeeper Jen Wall's (New
Haven, Ind./New Haven) head. Just nine minutes later, an
Adrian player was in the right spot at the right time as she caught
a rebounded shot that hit off the cross bar and found the open
net.
The Thunder defense stepped up big in the second
half as they shut down the high-powered Adrian offense allowing
just one shot on goal.
Wall finished the afternoon with three saves.
Adrian out-shot the Thunder 15-to-3, but all
three of Trine's shots came on goal. Freshman Miranda Allen
(Grass Lake, Mich./Grass Lake) attempted two shots, while
junior Mary Lang (Kokomo, Ind./Kokomo) had the Thunders other shot
attempt.
Trine will return to action on October 18 as they
travel to Hope College for a 7:00 p.m. game.
