THUNDER AND SCOTS PLAY TO A SCORELESS DRAW

ANGOLA, Ind. - Even though it ended in a tie, it was a huge win for the Trine University women's soccer team as their game with defending conference champion Alma College ended in a 0-0 draw. The Thunder are now 3-6-1 on the season and 1-4-1 in the conference.

Alma held a wide shot margin in the first half, out shooting the Thunder 8-to-1. However, the Thunder came alive in the second half as they took seven shots in the period with four coming on goal. Alma would outshoot Trine 6-to-0 in the two overtimes.

Sophomore Kristen Elliot (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) led the Thunder with four shots, with three coming on goal. Freshman Morgan Baldwin (Amanda, Ohio/Amanda-Clearcreek) had Trine's other shot on goal attempt.

In goal, senior Jen Wall (New Haven, Ind./New Haven) earned her third shutout of the season while making 11 saves.

Coming into the game, the Comets had been averaging 2.67 goals per game, and marks the first time they have been shutout this season.

Trine will next host St. Mary's College on October 4 at 4:00 p.m.
