Thunder Fall to Ohio Northern

ADA, Ohio – The Trine University men's soccer team came up short of their hosts from Ohio Northern University, dropping the match 3-0.

The Polar Bears came out on the attack in the game and dominated the first half time of possession. They finished the first period with 15 shots including six on goal. The Thunder weathered the pressure for 30 minutes before surrendering a pair of goals in four minutes. The 2-0 lead held into the intermission.

The home side had eight more shots in the second half with three on net. They scored the final tally of the game in the 88th minute. Trine's offense did find a bit of purchase in the second half, firing three shots. Britton Sala, John Hughes and Brayden Fisher each had one of the shots.

Brandon Walker played the game in net for Trine and finished the day with six saves despite the three goals.

Trine falls to 2-6-1 overall after the loss. They will enter Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play in their next match, traveling to face The University of Olivet on Wednesday, October 7. That game is set to start at 4 p.m.
