ANGOLA, Ind. – Later this week, at the annual Touchstone and Homecoming Celebration Dinner, three new inductees will be welcomed into the Trine University Athletic Hall of Fame. During the week we will highlight the Class of 2026 and their accomplishments.

Preston Cool is a 2015 graduate of Trine University with a degree in exercise science. He was a four-year member of the men's wrestling program under head coach Dan Callahan.

Preston finished his time at Trine with 93 victories, mostly in the 133-pound weight class. Ten years after his career ended, he still holds program top ten marks in career wins, pin falls, tech falls, major decisions, decisions and total matches.

A three-time NCAA Championship qualifier, he placed four times at the Midwest Regional, including a top finish in 2013 and a runner-up tally in 2012. He also picked up tournament victories at the Ohio Northern Invitational in 2013 and the Al Hanke Invitational in 2015.

Preston now works as a veterinary consultant with IDEXX but continues to participate in wrestling. He currently serves as an assistant coach for the Urbana High School boys wrestling team and as the associate head coach for the girls team. During his time, the program has produced seven IHSA state qualifiers, with two going on to place at the state tournament.

In addition to the official induction to the Hall of Fame on Friday, October 2, all members of the class will be recognized on the field during Trine's Homecoming Football game against Alma College on Saturday, October 3. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. with recognitions taking place throughout.
