ANGOLA, Ind. – Trine University Director of Athletics Andy Rang has announced that Mackenna Kelly will serve as the department's senior woman administrator in addition to her current position as the head coach of the women's golf team.
"Mackenna has quickly established herself as a crucial part of Trine University athletics," said Rang, "As senior woman administrator, she will be empowered to bring her fresh ideas to the department. The goal is always to improve the experience for our student-athletes and I am excited for Mackenna to contribute."
Kelly has led the women's golf program since July of 2024, after serving as the assistant coach for both the Thunder men's and women's golf teams. Kelly has led the program to new heights, finishing second in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings in both of her seasons. Under her tutelage, the program earned its first MIAA Most Valuable Golfer last season.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to step into this role at Trine," said Kelly, "Being a student-athlete was such an important part of my college experience that led to my decision to remain involved in athletics. With this role I can further support our student-athletes as we strive to make their experiences as positive and meaningful as possible."
Kelly graduated from Trine in 2020 with a degree in mathematics. She was a member of the women's golf team for three seasons.
