FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has announced their 2026 end of season honors with seven members of the conference champion Trine University softball team securing recognition.
Senior Emma Lee highlighted the group, earning Most Valuable Position Player and her first All-MIAA first team selection. Joining her on the first team were fellow seniors Debbie Hill, Karley Trine and Macy Rocha, along with junior Tyra Marcum and freshman Clare Feehan. Sophomore Whitney Duell rounded out the delegation with a second team selection.
This marks the ninth time that a member of the Thunder has earned the top player honor for the MIAA. It is the third time that the program has secured the award in back-to-back seasons, with Jo Trine taking home the award in 2025. This is the second time Lee has earned All-MIAA status, the first on the first team.
The Cottage Grove, Wis. native saved her best season for last, becoming an absolute menace in the batters' box during this conference season. During the 16 conference games she finished with a .500 batting average, a .517 on-base percentage and a monster 1.239 slugging percentage. She had 10 home runs, a triple and a pair of doubles to round out her 23 hits during the stretch along with scoring 26 runs and recording 28 RBIs. Also a menace on the basepaths she finished the stretch with eight stolen bases on eight attempts. She also had a perfect fielding percentage.
Hill becomes a four-time member of the All-MIAA recognition, this year marking her third season on the first team after falling on the second team in 2025. At the plate, the New Whiteland, Ind. native finished the MIAA season with a .447 batting average, a .613 on-base percentage and a .974 slugging percentage. She recorded 17 hits with six homers and two doubles while securing a team high 18 walks. Along the way she had 22 RBIs. She also served as the team's most effective pitcher, going 5-0 in MIAA play with a 1.91 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP.
This is the third season that Jo Trine has been selected to the first team, including the 2025 MVP award. The Kokomo, Ind. native secured her spot this season with another strong performance at the plate. During MIAA play she finished with a .421 batting average, a .455 on-base percentage and a .807 slugging percentage. She recorded 24 hits including five homers, a triple and five doubles, bringing in 22 RBIs. In the outfield she finished with a perfect fielding percentage and a pair of assists.
Rocha also makes her third appearance on an All-MIAA team, her second time on the first team. The Elkhorn, Wis. native, had another strong season for the Thunder while playing third base in the field. She finished the conference season with a perfect fielding percentage and second on the team with 21 assists. At the plate she finished with a .462 batting average, a .500 on-base percentage and a .692 slugging percentage. She had 24 hits including six doubles and two home runs and 22 RBIs.
Marcum rounds out the multi-year members of All-MIAA making her third straight appearance on the first team. The Goshen, Ind. native, was the starting first baseman for the team throughout MIAA play but really made her mark in the batters' box. She led the team with 73 putouts while finishing with a .974 fielding percentage. She compiled a .522 batting average, a .645 on-base percentage and a 1.196 slugging percentage. She has 24 hits including seven doubles and eight home runs with 24 RBIs.
Feehan makes her debut on the All-MIAA first team, after figuring out college softball hitting during conference play. The Columbus, Ohio native, played and started in all but two conference games as the catcher. She finished second with 64 putouts and a .957 fielding percentage. Her batting picked up as the season progressed finishing with a .514 batting average, a .609 on-base percentage and a 1.027 slugging percentage. She had 19 hits with four doubles and five home runs and 26 RBIs.
Duell also made her debut on an All-MIAA team with her second team appearance. The West Lafayette, Ind. native, started every game at second base and finished with a .941 fielding percentage. She posted a .438 batting average, a .585 on-base percentage and a .521 slugging percentage. Of her 21 hits, two were doubles and one was a triple and she was second on the team with 22 runs scored.
The regular season champion Thunder are set to host the 2026 MIAA Softball Tournament presented by Collegiate Credi Union beginning later today, Wednesday, May 6. The first game will feature Trine and fourth-seeded Hope College at 1 p.m. with Calvin University and Alma College facing off at 3:30 p.m.
