Seven Named to NFCA All-Region Teams

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Trine University is one of four NCAA Division III softball teams to earn seven All-Region selection from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Four members of the team secured first team honors.

Seniors Debbie Hill and Emma Lee were joined by junior Tyra Marcum and freshman Clare Feehan. Seniors Macy Rocha and Karley Trine along with junior Keelin Wheaton made the third team.

This is the fourth time that Hill has been selected to an all-region team and the third time on the first team, each time in the Utility/Pitcher slot. The New Whiteland, Ind. native has again been a dynamic force in the batters' box this season. She currently boasts a .408 batting average, a .542 on-base percentage and a .874 slugging percentage. She is second on the team with 13 home runs and leads the team with 33 walks. During the season she secured the NCAA Division III Softball record for career walks and the program's career home run mark. In the circle she has a 1.63 earned run average and a 10-1 record with 56 innings of work. She leads the team with 66 strikeouts.

This is the second all-region selection for Lee, the first on the first team as an outfielder. The Cottage Grove, Wis. native is have a career season and is earning the awards to match, adding the all-region selection to the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Most Valuable Position Player award. She currently boasts a .432 batting average, a .504 on-base percentage and a .910 slugging percentage. She is second on the team with 48 hits including a team high 14 home runs and 50 RBIs. She has also stolen 16 bases.

Marcum makes her third appearance on the first team, her second as a first baseman. The Goshen, Ind. native is again one of the top hitters in the country. She owns a .425 batting average, a .535 on-base percentage and a team high .929 slugging percentage. She is tied for second on the team with 48 hits including 13 home runs and 16 doubles. She is tied atop the stats with 50 RBIs and held a 37-game reached base streak during the season.

Feehan continues to earn recognition as a first-year catcher. In addition to a solid season behind the plate, the Columbus, Ohio native has distinguished herself in the batters' box. She owns a .415 batting average, a .512 on-base percentage and a .800 slugging percentage. She has 27 hits including six home runs and five doubles. She has brought in 34 RBIs and stolen 12 bases.

Jo Trine makes her fourth appearance on an all-region team, her second as a third team selection. The Kokomo, Ind. native was once again selected as an outfielder adding impressive batting stats to strong defensive play in right field, including four assists. At the plate she has a .459 batting average, a .474 on-base percentage and a .789 slugging percentage. She leads the team with 50 hits including 12 doubles, three triples and six home runs while batting in 32 runs.

This is the third time that Rocha has been named all-region, the first time on the third team. Rocha secured her spot as a third baseman where she locked down the hot corner throughout the season. At the plate she has a .390 batting average, a .471 on-base percentage and a .627 slugging percentage. She has 46 hits including 12 doubles, two triples and four home runs with 35 RBIs.

Rounding out the team's delegation was Wheaton, who earns her first all-region honor as a third team outfielder. Despite splitting time in left field, the Mt. Pleasant, Mich. native has compiled an impressive resume, especially at the plate. She boasts a .420 batting average, a .467 on-base percentage and a .642 slugging percentage. She has 34 hits including eight doubles, two triples and two home runs.

The Thunder will continue competition in the 2026 NCAA Division III Softball Championship tournament tomorrow, Saturday, May 16. They are set for a rematch with Loras College at 11 a.m. and would need a second win at 1:30 p.m. to continue their quest to repeat as national champions.
