ORLANDO, Fla. – The Trine University women's tennis team made quick work of their penultimate day in Florida, securing a pair of sweeps over Wartburg College and Concordia University Chicago.

The day started against the Knights with the Thunder winning all three doubles matches. The No. 2 pairing was the tightest of the contests with Emilee Bassett and Emily Hatseras ultimately winning 6-4. Emma Beehler and Addison Lockwood won the No. 3 match 6-2 while Elina Locane and Alexis Maloney won convincingly 6-1 in the top match.

The team went on to take all six singles matches, a few in close fashion. The closest battle was in the No. 2 contest where Beehler needed a super tiebreaker to win 6-7(2-7), 6-2, 10-7. Hatseras also had a close win with 6-4, 6-4 scores at No. 5. Bassett won the No. 3 match 7-5, 6-2.

Maloney was the next to finish in the No. 4 match, winning 6-2, 6-4. Avery Elsworth followed in the No. 6 match with scores of 6-3, 6-2. Locane won the top match 6-1, 6-3.

The second dual of the day was even more lopsided. The Thunder dropped no more than one game in any set during the 7-0 victory over the Cougars. All three doubles teams swept their matches to start the contest up 1-0.

Locane needed one extra game to beat her opponent in the top singles match 6-0, 6-1. Both Beehler and Hatseras in the second and third matches won 6-1, 6-0. Elsworth at No. 4, Cali Mickley at No. 5 and Lockwood at No. 6 all won in sweeps.
