ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's basketball team finished the season ranked in both national polls. The Thunder finished 23^rd in the D3hoops.com and 25^th WBCA Coaches' Poll.
 
Trine advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to eventual national champions, Denison University. The Thunder's ninth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance began the same way the other eight did, with a win, a 90-45 decision over Shenandoah University. The Thunder fell 63-54 to the Big Red, the closest margin of victory for Denison during its run to a title.
 
The Thunder are one of two MIAA teams in the poll, Hope College checked in seventh in the D3hoops poll and eighth in the WBCA poll.
 
This is the 10^th season in a row the Thunder have finished ranked inside the final D3hoops.com top 25.
