FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has named Rocco Curatola as their men's lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week.

This is the first career athlete of the week honor for the sophomore attack. It is the fourth time this season that a member of the Thunder program has been recognized by the association.

Curatola, a Staten Island, N.Y. native, was crucial in both Trine games last week. In total he finished with three goals and five assists while adding four ground balls and a caused turnover. He started the week with a four-point game against Ohio Northern University. He recorded three assists in the contest, including two in the final quarter, before scoring the game winning goal. Trine won 7-6 in the game.

On Saturday, he and fellow sophomore Vin Pantano led a comeback attempt against a tough Oberlin College team. He finished the game with two goals and an assist, with the Thunder falling just short of the Yeos, 10-9.

Trine is 4-1 so far this season. They will travel to face Otterbein University on Tuesday, March 3. That game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
