Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Women's Hockey Drops Overtime Contest with Lake Forest

ANGOLA, Ind. – For the second day in a row, the Trine University women's hockey team found themselves playing past regulation with visiting Lake Forest College. Today the overtime goal went to the visitors with the game ending 2-1 in their favor.

After a frantic first and second period, the Thunder struck first in the 15th minute of the second stanza. With a man advantage for the second time in the contest, the team worked the offense after winning a forward faceoff. Kalli Graham passed the puck to the near faceoff dot where Cassandra Biblow was waiting to throw the puck toward net. While tied up with a defender just outside the crease Aleah Bienek tipped the puck into the back of the net.

That lead lasted until the final minutes of the period, when the Foresters scored for themselves, making the score 1-1 for the final period of play.

The intensity only went up a notch in the third, with both teams play hard and fast. Zsuzsa Révész was up for the task throughout the contest, making her second start in as many days. She made 37 saves during the game, including 16 in the first period and five in overtime. Her best sequence came in the extra stanza when she somehow kept three quick shots from crossing the line.

Lake Forest eventually found the back of the net in overtime, giving them the 2-1 victory.

Trine falls to 6-11-2 overall and 2-9-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) following the loss. They do earn a point toward the NCHA standings with the trip to overtime, making the weekend a true split with three points apiece.

The Thunder will hit the road for the first time in 2026, traveling to face Aurora University next weekend, beginning on Friday, January 30. That game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. CT / 4 p.m. ET.
