HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Trine University women's track and field team place fifth of ten teams at the Hillsdale College Wide Track Classic. Trine tallied 29 points including a third place finish in the 4x400-meter relay.
Kaylee Birely,
Ariana Todd,
Taryn Pratt, and
Hannah Flores Ness got the stick around the track in 4:14.05 and posted a new #10 mark in school history.
The University of Findlay won the meet with 174 points, hosts Hillsdale tallied 161.5 and Ohio Northern University was third with 114.5. Siena Heights was fourth and Michigan State Running Club, Adrian, Cleary, Albion, and Olivet rounded out the field.
Aniyah Small stormed to a new #5 program mark with her first sub-8 second run in the 60-meter dash. She finished in 7.97 seconds for fifth place.
Birely was fifth in the 400-meter dash and
Alyssa Possehn took eighth. The duo finished in 1:02.72 and 1:03.78.
Flores Ness took sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.54 seconds, her time of 9.46 seconds moves her to fourth in program history.
Olivia Andrews placed seventh in the pole vault, clearing 3.12 meters/10' 2.75".
Emma Forker leapt 5.18 meters/17' for a fifth place finish.
Macy Bonifield took a pair of eighth place finishes in the shot put and weight throw. Her shot put measured 10.41 meters/34' 2" and her weight toss measured 13.19 meters/43' 3.25", bettering her #10 all-time performance.
Trine sent a trio of distance runners to the Crossroads of America Invitational at the Indiana Stae Fairgrounds on Friday.
Bailey Puckett,
Eleanor Young, and
Courtney Study competed in the mile run in a stacked field of Division I opponents. Puckett crossed in 4:58.21 for fifth place. Young was 16th in 5:07.64 and Study was 24th in 5:11.82. Puckett's time ranks 11th in Division III.
