Coach
Andy Rang's halftime adjustments worked well as the script flipped in the second half. Trine held the Scots to 15 points and just 22.7% shooting in the second half and out rebounded the hosts 28-17. The Thunder scored their first 14 points of the third quarter in the paint, taking a 35-34 lead and then breaking a 35-all tie for a lead they would not relinquish. Marks and
Addison Hutson scored four each and a trio of freshmen, Nichols, Southworth and
Sophie Gesell scored the other three.
Madison Wagner rode the momentum from her career night on Wednesday with another great outing. She scored 13, five coming consecutively that pushed the Thunder lead to 48-40.
Gesell opened the fourth quarter with a triple and
Ally Capouch followed suit on the next possession. Marks and Southworth made put back buckets and completely squashed any chance of a Scot rally. Trine finished out their 23
rd consecutive MIAA win with some effective free throw shooting and were able to get each player in the game.
The Thunder will return to the MTI Center on Wednesday night to take on Albion at 7:00 p.m.
