GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Trine University men's soccer team was doubled up by their hosts from DePauw University, dropping the contest 4-2.
The Tigers struck first in the contest, posting a pair of goals in the first 14 minutes of play.
The Thunder responded in gritty fashion. With the DePauw defense in possession of the ball in their own end, they attempted to pass it through the box and out of the zone. Ben Borak wrestled the ball away from the defender and banked a shot off the near goalpost.
The home side netted the next two goals building a 4-1 lead for the intermission.
The lone goal of the second went to the Thunder in the 78th minute. Eventually Douglas ended up with he ball and worked by the final defender before passing it across the net to Josiah Findley. Findley buried the shot into the back of the net making the score 4-2.
That score eventually went final with neither team scoring in the final minutes of the contest. Despite allowing the four goals, Dillon Lambert ended the game with three saves in net.
