WOOSTER, Ohio – The Trine University men's soccer team came up short of their hosts from The College of Wooster, falling by the score of 2-0 in their second game of the season.
Neither team scored in the first half of the contest, but the Scots held a distinct advantage in shots over the first 45 minutes. The home side had nine shots to just one by the Thunder. Brandon Walker made the start in net for Trine and was forced into three saves in the first stanza.
It wasn't long into the second half when the dam finally broke for Wooster. They scored in the third minute of the half on their fourth shot on goal of the game. They added a second goal in the 78th minute when they were awarded a penalty kick.
The lone shot on goal for the Thunder came from Ben Borak in the 66th minute on a free kick chance set up by a yellow card on the home team.
The Thunder fall to 0-2 after the loss. They will look to secure the first win of the season when they travel to face Anderson (Ind.) University on Friday, September 5. That match is set to kickoff at 5 p.m.
