Men's Golf Announces 2025 Fall Schedule

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's golf team has announced their 2025 fall schedule. The Thunder took second in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association last season and will look to return to the top of the standings for the first time since 2021.

Trine opens their season on September 2^nd at the Aurora Double Gun Classic. A week later they will host their lone tournament of the fall, the Ken Venturi Invitational. The bulk of the fall schedule consists of the four MIAA Jamborees. The Jamborees help determine the MIAA Champion during the spring season, which is determined by the lowest combined score over the six MIAA tournaments through the season. Jamboree #1 will be September 15^th hosted by Albion. Jamboree #2 is set for September 25^th, hosted by Olivet. The lone Saturday Jamboree will be on October 4^th and is hosted by Alma College. Between Jamborees three and four, Trine will head to the Lewis Flyers Fall Intercollegiate Classic on October 6^th and 7^th. Jamboree #4 will be hosted by Calvin University on October 13^th. Trine closes out the season in Port Clinton, Ohio at the Region V Showcase, an event they won a season ago.

Trine returns freshman phenoms Jack Besner and Jake Bilby for their sophomore campaigns. Besner earned first team MIAA status and Bilby was named to the second team. Besner was the medalist at Jamboree #1 last year and Bilby claimed Jamboree three. Also returning is Carter Schnipke, Schnipke also earned first team MIAA status last year while ranking in the top 250 golfers in Division III. Schnipke shared Jamboree #3 medalist honors with Bilby last year. Second year head coach and 2023 Trine alumnus Mitch Lowney will lead the squad.
