ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's tennis team ended the regular season with a loss to Kalamazoo College but will still participate in the upcoming Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament. The Thunder fell today 6-1.

The Hornets took all three of the doubles matches to secure the first point of the contest. Both the top pairs for the Thunder dropped their matches 4-6 for relatively close scores.

The lone team point of the match came in the No. 4 singles match where Alexis Maloney won with scores of 6-2, 2-6, 6-0. Emily Hatseras forced a third set with a win in the second set but ultimately fell in the No. 5 match 0-6, 6-1, 5-7. Emilee Bassett also fell in a tiebreaker after winning a marathon first set, she came up short in the No. 3 match with scores of 7-6(7-0), 2-6, 4-10.

Trine finishes the regular season 12-6 overall and 3-5 in MIAA play. They will enter the upcoming conference tournament as the sixth seed, traveling to face three-seeded Saint Mary's College on Monday, April 28. That quarterfinal match is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
