ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's tennis team picked up their second win of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) portion of their season, defeating The University of Olivet 6-1.

The Thunder opened the day with three wins during the doubles portion of the competition to earn the first match point of the day. Emilee Bassett and Alexis Maloney made the quickest work of their contest, winning at No. 2 by the score of 6-1. Just behind them was Lizzie Welker and Emily Hatseras at No. 3, winning by the score of 6-2. Emma Beehler and Elina Locane rounded out the victory with a 6-3 win at No. 1.

Both Bassett at No. 3 and Hatseras at No. 5 swept their singles matches with 6-0, 6-0 scores. Locane and Welker were just shy of that mark winning at No. 1 and No. 6 with scores of 6-1, 6-0. The final victory of the day came in the No. 4 singles match where Maloney won 6-0, 6-2.

The Thunder improve to 10-2 overall and 2-1 in MIAA play following the dual. They will continue their season when they travel to face Calvin University on Tuesday, April 8. That match is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
