ORLANDO, Fla. – The Trine University remained undefeated after a hard fought 4-3 victory against Wartburg College.
The Knights took the first point of the day by winning two of the three doubles matches. Emilee Bassett and Alexis Maloney came up with the one win in the No. 2 match.
Elina Locane staved off a pair of match points on her way to a win in the No. 1 singles match with scores of 4-6, 6-3, 12-10 earning a pair of team points for the Thunder. Bassett and Maloney both finished the day undefeated by winning their singles matches. Bassett won at No. 3 with scores of 6-2, 6-3 and Maloney won the No. 4 match 6-3, 6-1. Emily Hatseras secured the victory for the team with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 5.
Trine improves to 7-0 overall after the victory. They will finish their spring break trip in Florida when they faceoff with Allegheny College tomorrow, Thursday, March 6. The dual is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
