ADRIAN, Mich. – The Trine University Men's Volleyball team secured a 3-1 road MCVL victory over Adrian on Friday night. Kevin Boncaro had 22 kills to lead the Thunder who improve to 13-7 (3-2 MCVL), Adrian drops to 5-17 (1-5 MCVL).
 
Trine took down the Bulldogs in a gentlemen's sweep, Adrian took set one 25-18 but Trine took the next three 25-18, 25-19, and 25-17.
 
Adrian opened up a 12-6 lead in the first set and never allowed Trine to get closer to take set one.
 
Trine returned the favor in set two with a 14-7 lead with kills from Boncaro, Ty Freeman, Johnson-Kuhao Ho'okano-Pelekai and Ryan McDonald. Boncaro punched six kills to help Trine take the win.
 
Trine controlled set three early and often, taking advantage of Bulldog errors for a 15-8 lead. Ho'okano-Pelekai, Boncaro, and Ethan McLenon each had kills and McLenon and McDonald teamed up for a block. Boncaro and Ho'okano-Pelekai had two kills each to close out the set.
 
Boncaro got rolling early in set four, adding four more kills as Trine took a 15-13 lead. He and McLenon added aces, the Boncaro sent home the final two points as Trine close set four on a 10-4 run.
 
Trine continues MCVL play tomorrow at Olivet. That game is slated for a 1:00 P.M. start.
