TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Trine University women's tennis team picked up another win with a 4-3 victory over their hosts from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
The team dropped the doubles portion of the contest, winning just one of the matches. The No. 2 team of Alexis Maloney and Emilee Bassett secured that point with a 6-3 win.
The Thunder took four of the single matches to secure their win. Both Bassett in the No. 3 match and Maloney in the No. 4 match finished the day undefeated. Bassett won 6-2, 6-3 and Maloney came out on top 6-2, 6-2.
Elina Locane won the No. 1 match 6-2, 6-3 and Emily Hatseras finished off the dual victory with a 6-3, 6-1 win in the No. 5 match.
Trine improves to 9-1 after the win. The team will next take the courts when they host Albion College on Tuesday, March 25. The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener is set to start at 4 p.m.
