ANGOLA, Ind. – Following a sweep in the opening round of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Harris Cup Playoffs, the Trine University men's hockey team is set to play in their fourth-straight semifinal contest. In a battle of nationally ranked teams, the #7/#6 Thunder will head to Wisconsin to face #5/#5 St. Norbert College.
This will be the third match-up this season between the two teams, with all three on the Green Knights' home ice inside of the Cornerstone Community Center. The regular season doubleheader was a split, with St. Norbert winning on Friday, 2-1, and the Thunder taking game two 4-0.
The game is also a repeat of last year's semifinal which saw Bobby Price score a goal in the middle part of the third period to force overtime. In the extra period, the Green Knights scored the game winner for the 4-3 victory.
Opening puck drop this year is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, March 1. Those wishing to attend can purchase tickets online or at the door an hour before the game. Sections C and D of the rink have been reserved for Thunder fans and are available with promo code NCHA25. Tickets range in cost from $9 to $11 depending on the location of the seats.
