Katie Tate matched Olivet with a layup to tie things up at two. The Comets pushed the lead to nine late in the first quarter, a Sherwood triple and Wagner jumper tightened things up.

The tide turned quickly in the third quarter, Trine opened with a 10-2 run backed by 6 points in the paint and a long ball from Capouch. Olivet clawed back from a 39-37 deficit with a 10-2 run of their own. Tate connected from beyond the arc to help the Thunder cut the lead to one headed to the fourth quarter.
The Thunder own some of the best point differentials in the 1
st (17
th) and 3
rd (9
th) quarters in Division III. Tonight, it was the fourth quarter where they were able to flex some muscle. The Thunder rank 12
th in 4
th quarter point differential. They will move up that list tomorrow as the Thunder pounded the Comets 27-11 over the final 10 minutes. The teams traded blows for the first four minutes and Trine led 53-52. The Thunder rolled after that, a 20-2 run over five minutes of game time eviscerated any chance of a Comet upset. Sherwood added 8 points over the streak and 8 different Thunder found the bottom of the net.
Wagner had 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 4 steals to go with a game high 19 points. Tate grabbed seven boards and Sherwood added five.
