FRANKLIN, IND. –
Drew Moore had a game high 18 points while
Emmanuel Megnanglo pulled down 18 rebounds to lead the #4 Trine Men's Basketball team to a 65-50 road victory over Franklin College on Saturday evening. This was the Thunder's first game since December 7
th, they improve to 8-1 while the Grizzlies fall to 6-4.
Â
The Thunder raced out to a 9-0 lead and never trailed.
Cam Smith scored 11 of his 13 points in the first half as Trine led by as many as 16 in the first frame. It looked as if the Grizzlies would begin chipping away at the lead, but
Grant Pahl buried back to back triples to douse the rally. Smith scored the final six points of the half for Trine to take a 34-20 lead into the break.
Â
The second half started with the Grizzlies cutting into the Thunder lead to trail 39-31. Over the next eight minutes Trine stretched the lead out to 18 behind six points from
Jayce Cusack and five from Moore. Three other scored baskets over the run for Trine. Franklin stopped the run with back to back buckets, the Thunder answered by scoring the next six points to keep the game out of reach. Trine would be held scoreless over the final six minutes but a strong defensive presence helped Trine limit FC to just five points over that same period.

Trine returns home on Monday, December 30
th at 2:00 p.m. for a matchup with Manchester.
