ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University Men's Soccer team fell 2-1 to Calvin this evening in the MIAA Championship game.
Djimo Kouyate scored a 75
th minute goal to trim a 2-0 Calvin lead, but the hosts were unable to complete the comeback. Calvin earns the MIAA's automatic bid into the NCAA tournament and is now 14-5-2. Trine completes their season with a final mark of 7-7-3.

Calvin struck first in the 9
th minute when Xtreme Hauk put a shot past the Thunder defense. In the 22
nd minute
Ben Borak drew a foul in the box and set up a penalty kick for Kouyate, he went low and right but the Knight's keeper was too fast and made the save. Calvin would score again in the 28
th minute to take a 2-0 advantage into the half.

In the 58
th minute,
Braden Estep was able to get a shot off toward the top of the Knights' goal but again their keeper was there to make the save.
Aidan McGonagle made saves in the 60
th and 62
nd minute to keep the game within reach. In the 75
th minute the Thunder would strike.
 Ryan Cote made a move past the Knights' defense and made a cross into the box and Kouyate sent his shot low and right again, this time he got the better of Calvin's keeper and put Trine on the board. The Knights would prevent any further Thunder shots and claim the MIAA title.

This concludes the Thunder's season. Trine's seniors leave with a 35-29-10 overall record and a 17-5-6 record in conference.
